The Connecticut Package Stores Association (CPSA) and the Connecticut Small Brands Council (CSBC) will host an industry update and distillery tour at Onyx Spirits Company in East Hartford on January 15, 2018. Carroll J. Hughes, Executive Director of the Connecticut Package Store Association, will provide a briefing to trade association members and guests on industry issues ahead for 2018 legislative session and efforts on promoting Connecticut-made products. The early afternoon event will welcome members and trade guests for the early afternoon meeting for a tour and tastes of Onyx Spirits Company products combined with industry and legislative updates and more. The 15th annual Sun Wine & Food Fest at Mohegan Sun will be held on January 26, 27 and 28, 2018, featuring beer, wine, specialty spirits and dishes by local and celebrity chefs with entertainment and live demonstrations. Three days of events are offered including a Bourbon Tasting session and Divine Delights, which pairs desserts and wines.
The Grand Tasting showcases more than 1,000 brands will enjoy tastings of specialty sponsor spirits. Foodies can sample signature dishes from the region’s most highly-rated restaurants. The Main Culinary Stage is the backdrop for two days of celebrity chef demonstrations and contests. Other features offered are the Celebrity Chef Dine Around on Saturday night, while Sunday culminates with a Sunday Brunch with Martha Stewart.The official charity is Channel 3 Kids Camp.

What is the Stars of the Industry Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony?
- The Stars of the Industry awards ceremony was created more than 27 years ago.
- This is an annual ceremony hosted by the RI Hospitality Association and RI Hospitality Education Foundation, to recognize those in the Restaurant and Hospitality Industries.
- It is held at the end of the year at the Twin River Casino.
- More than 500 guests attend this event.
- Recipients are nominated by their bosses, co-workers and even their customers.
- There are over 20 categories, with 2-3 nominations per category.
- Winners are voted by the public and elected officials of the board. They receive a trophy to take home.

Time for the sixth annual Rhode Island Brew Fest, a celebration of American craft breweries featuring the best brews the Ocean State has to offer. More than 50 breweries with over 175 beers to sample from will be showcased in two, three-hour sampling sessions from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m and 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Each session will feature live music, local vendors and a food court. A portion of every ticket sold is donated to the Rhode Island Brewers Guild. The Rhode Island Brew Fest is a 21+ event.
