Beam Suntory Helps Military Community with Holiday Meals

By December 2, 2017Top News

Beam Suntory donated $100,000 of holiday meals through Operation Homefront. The program assisted more than 8,400 military families in 2017. The Holiday Meals for Military program originated on Thanksgiving 2009 at a supermarket in Utica, N.Y., near Fort Drum when a Beam Suntory employee who was in a checkout line helped a soldier, his wife and infant pay for their groceries. “It’s been incredibly inspiring to see this program grow from that first donation to the distribution of thousands of meal kits today,” said Beam Suntory Chairman and CEO Matt Shattock. Beam Suntory employees also volunteer to help pack meal kits across the country. Since Holiday Meals for Military’s inception, Beam Suntory employees have volunteered thousands of hours to help pack and distribute family meals.
