To celebrate  June 11, 2016 otherwise known as “World Gin Day,” Brockmans Gin invited bars from around the world to compete in a cocktail competition by asking bartenders to submit a unique cocktail recipe. Gin Bar 71 in Glasgow was named the winner of Brockmans World Gin Day ‘Brocktails’ Competition.

Submissions were received from France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Gin Bar 71 of Glasgow featured “Irn Bro Cocktail,” a take on the classic Negroni, which featured Brockmans Gin, Aperol and RinQuinQuin, garnished with grapefruit twist and blackberry.

“Many of the entries from all over the world were simply brilliant and the five short-listed cocktails were all exceptional,” said Bob Fowkes, co-founder and marketing director of Brockmans Gin. “We thank them for entering and congratulate Gin Bar 71 and their cocktail Irn Bro, a truly wonderful twist on a classic.”

Other finalists included: La Habanera in Madrid with “Woman at Night” cocktail; The Churchill in New York with “Lord of the Gins” cocktail; Rev. J.W. Simpson in London with “Black and Stormy” cocktail; The Walrus Room in London with “Pretty Woman” cocktail.
