A note to our valued retailer readers about mailing delays.
|
The Beverage Journal, wholesalers, retailers and the Department of Consumer Protection, Liquor Control Division have a long-standing, successful, unique and mandated relationship. It is how wine, spirits and beer get to the marketplace: for over 50 years in fact. Another key player in this is process each month is the United States Postal Service. When there are postal delays in getting the Beverage Journal to you, it hurts your ability to do retail business – we understand that. We spend a lot of effort trying to fix things each time: apologizing to you, packing and mailing a new book, investigating what went wrong and hoping for things get better the next time. The postal service is undergoing changes that impact us all, as noted in The Associated Press and BusinessWeek; facing financial difficulties and uncertainty. The future consolidation of mail processing centers or other cuts only increases the chance of uncontrolled mail delays something we know impacts you - but something we cannot control. While we of course continue to work with the USPS, we want you to know there are options to adapt to change when the mail is late. You CAN get your pricing information on time and online–for those times when your printed copy of The Beverage Journal takes slower to arrive in the mail than any of us expect. What to do:
What you get:
How it helps:
What stays the same:
What else can you do? Ask your local postmaster what is going on. And then tell us.We know you need your prices by the first of the month; since 1945. Let us help you adapt to change; that is all that WE can do.Sincerely,The Connecticut Beverage Journal Staff |
