Diageo Brands Receive Honors During World Spirits Competition

Diageo received a total of 66 awards, of which more than a third were Gold or Double Gold, during the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Diageo earned 42 medals in the whiskey category with Buchanan’s, Johnnie Walker, Lagavulin, Mortlach, Talisker and The Singleton of Glendullan, among many others. “Best in Class” recognition went to Buchanan’s Special Reserve, Johnnie Walker Green Label and Lagavulin 16 Year Old. Roe & Co. Blended Irish Whiskey, Gordon’s London Dry Gin, Smirnoff No. 21 Unflavored Vodka and Tanqueray No. Ten Gin also earned top accolades. “We are proud of the distilling heritage of our spirits brands and this overwhelming recognition from one of the most globally-recognized spirits competitions is testament to that,” said Deirdre Mahlan, President of Diageo North America.
