Allison Leavitt was named Managing Director for the Wine and Spirits Shippers Association (WSSA), replacing Geoffrey Giovanetti, who will be retiring from the role after 30 years. Leavitt has served the beverage industry for decades, beginning her career in her family’s custom house business, Chase, Leavitt (CHB) Inc., in 1986. She rose to become president, which grew to five offices in the U.S. before being sold to Albatrans, Inc. in 2001, where she was a member of the top management team. Albatrans is WSSA’s partner in providing freight forwarding, consolidation and customs clearance services for shipments to WSSA members. Leavitt is a licensed customs house broker and serves as a member of several boards.
