Dana Bucin, Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut and Marco Pelliccio, Founder, Propel Beverage LLC. Bucin said, “It fills my heart with joy and gratitude to witness the distribution of these exceptional Romanian wines throughout Connecticut by Brescome Barton … I am deeply moved by the warm embrace and support of the Romanian-American community in Connecticut, who eagerly welcome this opportunity to share their heritage and love for Romanian wines.”

The first Romanian wines to the state of Connecticut, Caii de la Letea and Domeniile Prince Matei, are newly available via Brescome Barton. Marco Pelliccio, Founder, Propel Beverage LLC, recently met with Dana Bucin, Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut, to recognize the wine import milestone. “As a diplomat representing Romania, I cannot express strongly enough the immense pride and admiration I feel for the uniqueness and high-quality of Romanian wines. These exquisite wines, crafted with passion and expertise, embody the rich history, culture, and traditions of our beloved country. Feteasca Neagra (Black Fairy) and Feteasca Alba (White Fairy) grape varieties are uniquely indigenous to Romania. An easily recognizable feature of some of these wines are the free roaming wild horses (Caii de la Letea) on the label, inspired by Europe’s largest wild horse colony located in the Danube Delta close to the winery, at the border with Ukraine, as if to give us the taste of freedom we so desperately need in that region. As a proud supporter of Ukraine’s efforts to fight for freedom and democracy and of efforts to assist Ukrainian refugees here in Connecticut, my Consulate presents you with this wine made at the border of Romania and Ukraine in the spirit of freedom. Together, we celebrate the beauty and richness of our culture, fostering a stronger bond between Romania and Connecticut, and the United States.”
