Panelists will discuss opportunities for growth, challenges, and how the market in Rhode Island compares with regional and the national economic outlook. Presenters:
- Hudson Riehle, SR. VP of Research/Information, National Restaurant Association will present critical information that will help Rhode Island restaurateurs get ahead of the competition.
- Rachel Roginsky, Principal, Pinnacle Advisory Group presents the lodging industry with the most up to date statistics and economic overview specific to Rhode Island.
- Heather R. Singleton, RIHA’s Chief Operating Officer will present on current workforce development challenges and trends in the Rhode Island hospitality industry.
RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) hosts an upcoming free session with a panel of experts to discuss howto prepare your business and employees in the case of a coronavirus outbreak. The following items will be addressed:
- The status of the outbreak
- Food safety
- Contract issues involving cancellations
- Labor issues

The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host a Kitchen Cabinet Meeting at the Providence Marriott Downtown on Jan. 17. In order to best serve its members, RIHA would like to know more about the current challenges being faced by the hospitality industry, including:

• Labor
• Construction
• Labor and Training Initiatives & Issues
Industry experts Liz Tanner, Secretary of Commerce and Matt Weldon, Director, RI Department of Labor and Training will be in attendance. Members are encouraged to come ready with their thoughts and questions in order to have a meaningful dialogue.

The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host a hospitality industry meeting at Terrazza Bistro on May 22. Led by representatives from Health Source RI for Employers and Napier Financial, the event will give trade guests a mid-session legislative and industry update and inform them on how the legislation will affect their businesses and what they can do to boost employee recruitment and retention, followed by a cocktail reception. This event is free for RIHA members, however you must pre-register to attend. Members are encouraged to bring a non-member friend, registration also required.
The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) Women in Hospitality will host a Trivia Night for industry guests at O’Brien’s Pub in Newport on June 6. A fun night of networking and trivia.is partnered with Rogers High School Food Pantry to help with its mission of giving Newport students access to basic necessities they are not able to get elsewhere. Guests are asked to bring a donation of any of the following items:
- Non-perishable food
- Shampoo/conditioner
- Soap/body wash
The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host its annual Summer Membership Reception at The Capital Grille in Providence on June 14, 2023. A chance for trade professionals and members to enjoy familiar faces, meet new RIHA members and renew hospitality-industry connections, guests will be treated to appetizers and drinks outside on the venue’s patio. A mix and mingle with fellow members and enjoy hors d’oeuvres & cocktails. Tickets are $20 and this event is for members only. Pre-registration is required. The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host its 20th annual Rhode Island Lodging & Restaurant Economic Outlook Breakfast on Sept. 13, 2023. Guests will enjoy a panelist discussion, with analysis of the state of the hospitality industry and the economic forecast for 2024, along with a hot breakfast and networking prior to the presentation.
