The annual list of Wine Spectator best wine restaurants features 19 Rhode Island venues in 2018. Announced in July, the publication released its list of 3,759 restaurants worldwide with outstanding wine selections. “Best of” Awards of Excellence designations were given to Jamestown FiSH in Jamestown; The Dining Room at Castle Hill Inn in Newport; 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille in Newport; COAST at Ocean House in Watch Hill; and Restaurant 1879 at The Atlantic Inn in Block Island. Awards of Excellence were given to Coast Guard House Restaurant in Narragansett; The White Horse Tavern in Newport; The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar in Newport; Cara at The Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport; Chapel Grille Restaurant in Cranston; Caffè Itri in Cranston; Camille’s Restaurant in Providence; Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille in Providence; Persimmon in Providence; The Capital Grille in Providence; Mill’s Tavern Restaurant in Providence; Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille in Smithfield; and Olympia Tea Room in Watch Hill.
