10th Annual Newport Yacht Rendezvous Raises Funds

Guests at the Newport Yacht Rendezvous, now in its 10th year, turned out for the annual fundraiser in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County at the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard on June 23. Approximately 420 guests were in attendance to take part in yacht hopping, dinner, dancing and a Raise the Paddle pledge in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs. Allen “Captain Al” Corcoran, a Club kid, emceed the evening and led Raise the Paddle. Other guest speakers included the Club’s Youth of the Year, Kyle Brennan Simmons, a Club member and recent graduate of Middletown High School, and Nate Powers, a Club member and recent graduate of the Met School who was selected to perform at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s annual conference in May. Sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Gold’s Wine and Spirits, guests enjoyed signature cocktails featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers Canned Gin Cocktail and Press Premium Alcohol Seltzer. Founded in 1956, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County provides a positive, safe and fun environment for kids and teens, with its mission to “inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
