Fernet-Branca, in collaboration with Branford’s 1928 Cocktail Club, hosted a coin release party for the local trade community on May 27. During the industry night, guests enjoyed signature event cocktails featuring Fernet-Branca, created by Frank Dean, Co-owner, 1928 Cocktail Club, with bartenders and servers Gianna Blandi, Jackie Johnson and Grace Trufan. Fernet-Branca, a style of amaro originating in Italy, was first formulated in Milan in 1845. It is one of the best known Italian bitters, with 27 herbs, roots and spices that make up its formula. A bartending tradition developed from military coin challenges, the Fernet coins are used to challenge the buying of a round and symbolize bartender community membership.
