Tito’s Handmade Vodka and distributor Hartley & Parker Limited, Inc., a Connecticut division of the Martignetti Companies, collaborated on a now-annual community garden building effort at the Hallett Street Garden in Bridgeport on Nov. 10. United through the Tito’s Block to Block initiative, volunteers from Hartley & Parker and Tito’s took part in the daylong volunteer event. Through Tito’s Block to Block program, Tito’s Handmade Vodka has partnered with nonprofits and volunteers in major cities across the country to rehabilitate community gardens and farms, making fresh food accessible to urban communities where healthy food is often scarce. The Hallett Street Garden is a Bridgeport-based urban farm for the adjacent neighborhood families to share and grow healthy and nutritious food for generations to come. The teams rebuilt a 22-bed community garden at the Hallett Street Garden in Bridgeport. It is one of several urban farms that Green Village Initiative works to help make healthy food accessible and equitable to families in the Bridgeport/New Haven area.
- Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Hartley & Parker’s Limited, Inc. teams worked in Bridgeport for a second year, this time at the Hallett Street Garden, helping with their community on a garden rehabilitation and beautification project.
