Providence-based Industrious Spirit Company (ISCO) launched its newest spirit inspired by the Ocean State coastline: Seaflow Gin. Naturally ocean blue in hue, it is a maritime-inspired gin made with local oysters and seaweed and joins ISCO’s mainstay spirit lineup of Ostreida Oyster Vodka, Structural Vodka, Ornamental Gin, Blue Velvet Bourbon, Patina Bourbon Barrel Aged Gin and Gemma Crystal Vodka. Seaflow is produced over an intentionally slow two-month process, creating a super-creamy, high-proof neutral spirit from 100% organic, regeneratively farmed corn. “Seaflow is a beautiful gin that highlights both our distillers’ Eric and Dan’s artistry and ISCO’s commitment to working with sustainable, low- or no-input ocean products, such as oysters and seaweeds,” said Manya Rubinstein, CEO of ISCO. A series of launch events will showcase collaborations toward sustainability efforts, including ISCO’s creation of a blue-colored compostable seaweed-based straw with green tech company Loliware among them. Continuing the Seaflow launch through World Ocean Month, an event on June 8, also World Gin Day, will see ISCO partnering with Farmhouse Pottery on a collaborative limited-edition tumbler inspired by Seaflow, as part of its Pots with Purpose initiative. ISCO is also partnering with Providence River Boat Company on monthly Ocean Spirit Cocktail Cruises throughout the summer in Providence Harbor.
