Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) hosted its annual Get Served event on May 17 at Iron Works in Warwick. Rhode Island’s Speaker of the House Joseph Shekarchi, Senate Majority Leader Ryan Pearson, Senate Minority Leader Jessica de la Cruz, Senate Majority Whip Valarie Lawson and House Majority Leader Christopher Blazejewski were among legislators and trade professionals who served lunch to RIHA members, bringing together the industry for a meal with fellow members. The event also showcased the skills of ProStart high school students from the Cranston Area Career & Technical Center, offering them hands-on hospitality experience. Proceeds benefited the RI Hospitality Education Foundation, which helps continue the fund’s mission of growing the future of hospitality through the ProStart program, and the RI Hospitality Political Action Committee for its legislative efforts.
