The Savory Grape in East Greenwich hosted an in-store Pelotón de la Muerte Mezcal tasting on June 28. Jaime Korkos, Mexican Spirits Brand Ambassador – MA/RI, MS Walker, was on-site pouring three of the brand’s artisanal mezcal expressions. Shoppers enjoyed tastes of Pelotón de la Muerte Espadín, Criollo and Pechuga mezcals alongside personalized brand education. Pelotón de la Muerte’s popular Espadín expression is known among mixologists for its well-balanced flavor profile. Pelotón de la Muerte Criollo Mezcal is open-air fermented for five days and double-distilled, resulting in an intense flavor with light, smoky notes. Pelotón de la Muerte Pechuga Mezcal is a vegan mezcal made from a blend of wild agaves that are roasted and distilled together, creating notes of cooked agave, mandarin, oranges, anise and mint. The mezcal line is distributed in Rhode Island via MS Walker.
