Providence River Boat Company has delighted summer Providence waterway riders with a series of wine and spirits open-air cruises all summer long. Local brands took center deck as narrated tours were accompanied with brand education and a selection of tastings. Featured were Gooseneck Vineyards, a North Kingstown-based brand that offers namesake Prosecco, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Rhody Red and Wickford White; Providence-based The Industrious Spirit Company, Providence’s first distillery since Prohibition ended, which produces sustainably sourced vodkas, gins and bourbons, such as its Seaflow Gin, Ostreida Oyster Vodka, Structural Vodka, Ornamental Gin, Blue Velvet Bourbon, Patina Bourbon Barrel Aged Gin and Gemma Crystal Vodka; and Pawtucket-based RI Spirits, makers of the Rhodium line of handcrafted gins, vodkas and liqueurs. RI Spirits was founded in 2019 and is New England’s only LGBT-owned spirits brand. The RI Spirits’ line includes Rhodium Vodka, RI Red Vodka, Coffee & Black Walnut Vodka, Citron Vodka, Classic Gin, Forager’s Gin, Grapefruitcello and Limoncello, each crafted from local fresh, farmed or foraged ingredients. Its products are gluten-free, organic, non-GMO and vegan, with all but one certified as RI Kosher. All of the above brands are distributed in the state via Horizon Beverage Co. of Rhode Island.
