Located on Hartford’s historic Pratt Street in the heart of the entertainment district, Hartford Flavor Cocktail Parlour celebrated its grand opening in last July. The cocktail bar, farm-to-table restaurant and board game lounge is the latest venture by Hartford Flavor Company, the award-winning organic, woman-owned distillery in the Parkville section of Hartford, which distills its line of organic infused vodka and its unique infused Wild Moon Liqueurs. Owner Lelaneia Dubay said she had a singular vision to create a showplace for the brand and place “its clean drinking ethos into food in a magical environment.” The menu is fully gluten-free and has many vegan and vegetarian options, offering low-oil, healthy food done simply with gourmet inspiration. She imagined a place where the brand’s patron saint, the goddess Diana, would let her hair down and host her guests, among the bar’s different rooms with unique decor. All of the interior design and artwork was done by Dubay. Bar Manager Jennifer Esponda and her team craft from a stylish bar menu based on Hartford Flavor Company’s line of products. Mocktails and dessert cocktails are featured, as are local beers and a vegan, sustainable, organic and biodynamic wine list.

Cocktail: Butterfly Kisses

Ingredients:
» 2.5 oz. house-made strawberry lychee cordial
» .5 oz. Gray Whale Gin
» 1 oz. Wild Moon Rose Liqueur
» .5 oz. lemon juice
» Prosecco
» Garnish: dried rosebuds and lemon wheel

Method: Place lychee liqueur and strawberry puree in a pan over low heat and reduce, about 15 minutes. Strain and cool. Build cocktail in a large wine glass with ice. Add all ingredients except Prosecco and mix well with a bar spoon. Pour Prosecco in and mix gently. Add dried rosebuds and a lemon wheel garnish. Biodegradable straw is optional.

Bar Manager Jennifer Esponda chose to build the Butterfly Kisses cocktail around Hartford Flavor Company’s Wild Moon Rose Liqueur, which is featured on the venue’s spring menu. “I wanted to create something delicate, flavorful and seasonal,” she said. “This cocktail has a fresh identity and reflects how easy our brand is to work with. Spring in a glass.”
