Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI), in collaboration with Bacardi, hosted an industry party featuring Ilegal Mezcal at Foxwoods Resort Casino on March 10. Held in the casino’s Grace By Nia venue, trade guests were treated to tastes of the Ilegal Mezcal line, which includes Joven, Reposado, Añejo and Caribbean Cask Finish. A variety of signature cocktails featuring Ilegal Mezcal created by Brenny Savoy, Mixologist, CDI, were also available to pair with small plates. Originating from Oaxaca, Mexico, Ilegal Mezcal is crafted from sustainably grown espadín agave. The mezcal is known for its balanced profile, characterized by a bold agave flavor with a subtle hint of smoke. It is produced in small batches by fourth-generation mezcaleros and its artisanal methods tout the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability, notably its use of 100% post-consumer recycled glass bottles amid a global glass shortage.
