Unbound Spirits launched in Connecticut with Mancini Beverage – Northeast Beverage division. The collection of whiskey and bourbons includes The Maelstrom, Red Skies, HoldFast, Icebound Vodka, Les Terribles and Hooligan Soup, each crafted with a unique blend of whiskeys and aging processes. Based in Algoma, Wisconsin, the brand is run by Co-CEOs and Co-founders Martin Pazzani and Kerry Shaw Brown. Pazzani’s career began at Heublein, now Diageo, in 1979 with industry experience working with the world’s largest brands to craft distilleries and startups. Shaw Brown is a director working with a wide range of companies, clients and brands in film and television. The flagship brand of Unbound Spirits is The Maelstrom, a blend of straight bourbons, re-casked in custom-made toasted and charred American white oak barrels in three different char levels. Les Terribles, a straight bourbon whiskey finished in French Cognac and Armagnac casks, references the name French generals gave to the men of the Wisconsin 32nd Division in World War I for their bravery and tenacity. Brown’s great-grandfather Albert Bentley Brown, a medic in those battles, received the Distinguished Service Cross and the Cross of France for his valor. Red Skies is aged straight bourbon re-casked in custom-made toasted and charred American white oak barrels. HoldFast is a double-oaked bourbon blend. Icebound Vodka uses limestone glacial water from the ancient Lawrentian ice sheet combined with heirloom corn and red soft winter wheat.
