Newport’s Bellevue Wine & Spirits hosted a wine tasting class featuring wines from the Rhône region of France paired with Comté cheeses on May 1. Led by Robert Cavanaugh, Managing Director, Adventure Wine, guests learned about the tasting notes and viniculture practices of the unique wines from the famed historic French wine valley for an afternoon in-store tasting program. Selections included wines from wholesalers Horizon Beverage Co. and Mancini Beverage. Attendees tasted E. Guigal Gigondas, Brotte Cote Rotie Les Murets, Château La Nerthe Les Cassagnes Côtes-du-Rhône Villages and Domaine de Beaurenard Côtes-du-Rhône, among the many wines. Guests paired the wines with Comté and Rhône Valley cheeses, saucisson and duck rillettes from sister store Aquidneck Meats & Provisions.
