Brescome Barton added a new rum expression from Mount Gay to its rum offerings. Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength is a new limited-edition aged rum created by Master Blender Trudiann Branker. For this release, she took inspiration from the long historical connection between Mount Gay and sailing, creating a high-strength blend bottled at 51.7% ABV. Navy strength refers to a time when voyaging sailors would carry large amounts of rum on board to ignite gunpowder for cannonballs. Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength offers bold and aromatic flavor aged between two to four years, with a higher portion of older, pot-stilled rums in the blend than its traditional Eclipse and roundness, balance and elegance.
