Change in the Air Festival @ Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue

The CT Brewers Guild will host the first Change in the Air Festival, featuring beer from 22 local craft breweries with a focus on black and brown-owned producers at Bear’s Smokehouse & BBQ in New Haven on Oct. 23. Daym Drops, star of Netflix’s “Fresh, Fried & Crispy” will be the event emcee, with live performances by Timmy Maia and the Paul Byrant Hudson Band and DJ Dooley-O. Food will be available for purchase from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ and from Jazzy’s Soul Kitchen, Madeline’s Empanaderia, Je T’aime Cupcakes and @EatWithChrissy. The event will benefit the CT Brewers Guild African American Brewing Scholarship, which funds scholarships for black and brown students in Sacred Heart University’s Brewing Science Certificate Program. Through the program, which matches students with on the job training at local breweries, four scholarships were awarded in 2021, made possible through funding by New England Brewing Co., Athletic Brewing Company, Great Falls Brewing, Two Roads Brewing Co., Rhythm Brewing and the CT Brewers Guild.

The CT Brewers Guild will host its fifth-annual CT Craft Beer Fest at Hartford’s XL Center on April 22, 2023. Guests will enjoy pours from more than 60 craft breweries throughout the afternoon, beginning with a VIP session at 1:00 PM. All proceeds will benefit the CT Brewers Guild to help further the goals of the craft beer movement in CT.

New Hartford’s Ski Sundown will host the Twelfth Annual Litchfield Hills Brewfest on June 10, 2023. A variety of local craft beers, wines, ciders and spirits will be available for tasting along with eats from food truck vendors. Guests will also have the opportunity to win prizes through silent auctions and raffles. Sponsored by Torrington Savings Bank, event proceeds will benefit St. Maron Church, Brooker Memorial and Adaptive Sports at Ski Sundown.

Danbury’s Charter Oak Brewery will host its annual OAKtoBEERfest Celebration Party event on Sept. 30. Guests will be treated to Oktoberfest-inspired craft beer from Charter Oak, including Easy Rider Kolsch, Helles / Festbier, OAKtoBEER – Marzen, Drunk’n Dunkel Lager, Midnight Ride Porter, 1687 Brown Ale, Lights Out Stout, Juice God NEIPA, Two Straws MilkShake Strawberry IPA, Wadsworth IPA and German Sour – Gose/Cherry. Guests will be enjoy free grilled brats, live music, raffles and more.
