The Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI), sales team celebrated the launch of Ozama Rum, a new Dominican rum founded by Baseball Hall of Famer David “Big Papi” Ortiz, with two events in May. Members of the sales team attended the national brand launch at Boston’s Fenway Park, which featured an appearance by Ortiz, known best for his legendary career with the Boston Red Sox. Following the national debut, CDI hosted a dedicated launch event at its Stratford headquarters to introduce the full sales team to the Ozama brand. Although Ortiz was not present in person, his message and vision for Ozama were shared through a presentation highlighting the inspiration behind the brand—his childhood memories on the Ozama River, his love for the Dominican Republic and his mission to give back. The Ozama team led the group through a tasting and education session, spotlighting the rum’s 100% Dominican-made production and authentic craftsmanship. “As soon as we heard Big Papi was stepping up to the plate with Ozama Rum, we knew this was a home run addition to our portfolio,” said Jon Fredyna, Vice President of Marketing, CDI. “It’s a phenomenal product that captures the spirit of a legend while offering consumers a truly exceptional Dominican rum.”
