Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI), hosted a Whiskey Lunch & Learn event for industry professionals at Danbury’s Ethan Allen Hotel on December 9, 2019. Approximately 15 retailers and restaurateurs attended this third event in CDI’s luncheon series led by guest educator Dave Rudman, Executive Director, Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Americas, with the goal to provide education on CDI’s extensive whiskey portfolio. The three-course luncheon enabled pairings with each course, beginning with a Scotch flight of Glen Moray 12 Year Old, Jura 18 Year Old and Compass Box – The Story of the Spaniard; a rye flight with the second course, which included WhistlePig 15 Year Old, Basil Hayden’s Dark Rye and Widow Jane Oak & Apple Wood Aged Rye; and a bourbon flight served with dessert, featuring Hudson Baby Bourbon, Legent and Heaven’s Door Tennessee Straight. Additional brands included The Balvenie 21 Year Old, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old, Chivas Regal Mizunara, Knob Creek Twice Barreled Rye, Heaven’s Door Straight Rye, Knob Creek Quarter Oak, Baker’s Bourbon 7 Year Old and Bib & Tucker Bourbon.
