Associates from the Connecticut Distributors, Inc.’s (CDI) Anchor and Considine Field Sales divisions joined forces to distribute more than 600 Thanksgiving turkeys and accompanying fixings to local residents in need at St. Vincent de Paul Place in Norwich before the holiday. Now in its third year of efforts, the giveaway marks a significant increase from the 400 turkeys distributed last year and 200 in an inaugural effort. The event, organized by CDI’s Elaine Paulk, with support from Misty Arnold and her team, reflects a growing need for such charitable initiatives in the community, the company said. “The amazing volunteers and staff made it possible for 435 cars and 245 walkers to breeze through with a turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, white potatoes, onions and carrots. In a five-hour time frame, approximately 5 tons of turkeys and 5 tons of sides to 680 households were provided. Attendees expressed profound gratitude, highlighting the impact of the gesture on their Thanksgiving celebrations. The success of the event and the sense of fulfillment shared by all involved underscored the importance of community support and charitable efforts,” said Jillian Corbin, Executive Director, St. Vincent de Paul Place.
