The Cocktail Guru Jonathan Pogash joined the broadcast of “The Rhode Show” on Dec. 10 in a segment creating a drinks recipe in celebration of Hanukkah. Pogash spoke of the inspiration for the showcased cocktail: sufganiyah, a small, round jelly doughnut eaten during the festival of Hanukkah, filled with jam or custard, and then topped with powdered sugar. The cocktail included Maker’s Mark Bourbon Whisky, honey syrup, fresh lemon juice and two teaspoons of raspberry jam, among other ingredients. Calling it a “variation on a whiskey sour,” the flavorful cocktail was garnished with a dehydrated orange wheel and cinnamon. The segment can be viewed on WPRI-TV’s website.
