Companies Pledge Millions in Hurricane and Earthquake Relief

Diageo pledged $1,000,000 to support relief and recovery efforts in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The funds announced are in addition to the $250,000 Diageo and its brands have committed to hurricane relief. Bacardi Limited and the Bacardí family committed $3 million for disaster relief and recovery efforts from Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and the earthquakes in Mexico. Bacardi designated $2 million in cash and other assistance to Puerto Rico, and the remaining $1 million to local relief agencies supporting communities in Florida, other islands in the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Mexico. The Cruzan Rum Distillery, based on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, committed $500,000 to the Fund for the Virgin Islands to support relief and recovery from Hurricane Irma. The donation brings more than $1.6 million in contributions by Cruzan and its corporate parents towards hurricane relief in the U.S. and its territories. E. & J. Gallo Winery donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross to aid with Hurricane Maria relief efforts in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, in addition to the $200,000 of earlier pledged funds.
