
The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) celebrated its 2023 CRAzies Awards finalists during the CRAzies Kickoff Party at the Stony Creek Brewery in Branford on Oct. 17, sponsored by Sysco. Led by CRA’s President and CEO Scott Dolch and Vice President of Sales and Operations Yvette Tavares, with guest appearances by additional team members, the event was aired live via the CRA’s Facebook and Instagram channels. Annual categories—including Chef of the Year, Server of the Year and Bartender of the Year—were announced. Industry members and the public voted for their favorites through Nov. 30. A panel of almost 40 food writers, critics, bloggers and social media influencers convened to vote across all categories. Top choices were then brought to the CRA Board of Directors, who announced the honorees. Winners are selected based on public vote and CRA’s nominating panel, set to be revealed at the CRAzies Awards Gala at Foxwoods Resort Casino on Dec. 4. “Connecticut’s restaurant and hospitality industry are a key driver of our state economy, and the CRAzies awards are designed to tell the stories of the many incredible individuals who make Connecticut one of the most diverse and impressive culinary landscapes in the world,” said Dolch. “This year’s gala is positioned to be our best yet, and we can’t wait to bring everyone together on Dec. 4.” See a list of the 2023 nominees at craziesawards.com.
