Día de los Muertos Dinner Showcases Don Fulano Tequila

By December 2, 2023Rhode Island, Top News

Don Fulano Tequila, available in Rhode Island via Johnson Brothers, was showcased during a Día de los Muertos-themed dinner on Nov. 2 at Besos Tapas in East Greenwich. The celebration included Don Fulano cocktails and a tasting pairing menu led by Johnson Brothers Sales Consultant Wesley Wynkoop, as celebrants dressed in red and black enjoyed the additional festive opportunity to make a “succulent skull” planter with help and supplies from the Plant Girl Shop. Don Fulano Tequila is the product of the Fonseca family, five generations of agave farmers and distillers. Located in the town of Atotonilco in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, the family started cultivating agave 140 years ago. Don Fulano is available in Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo and made exclusively with three ingredients: estate-grown, hand-selected Maduro and Pinto agave, proprietary yeast and natural volcanic water. Unfiltered, untouched, and free of additives and made by the fifth generation of the Fonseca family at La Tequileña Distillery (NOM 1146), Don Fulano uses fermentations with and without bagasse, and distills its spirits in copper alembics for depth and agave character, as well as an experimental copper Coffey still with maturation in French Limousin and Nevers casks that previously held wines from Burgundy, the Loire Valley and Bordeaux.
