The Savory Grape in East Greenwich hosted an in-store tasting featuring wines by Italian producer Castelfeder on May 16. Natalie D’Alessandro Volpe, Italian Wine Specialist/Broker, NDV Wine Agents, LLC, was on-site pouring five wines from Castelfeder. During the afternoon, guests enjoyed Castelfeder Mont Mes Pinot Grigio, Lahn Kerner, Vom Stein Pinot Bianco, Rieder Lagrein and Mont Mes Pinot Nero with personalized brand education. Located in the Alto Adige region of Italy, Castelfeder was founded in 1969 and has been run by four generations of the Giovanett family. The winery focuses on single-vineyard white wine varietals, including Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, with red wine grapes Pinot Noir and Lagrein, which are both indigenous to the region. The wines are distributed in Rhode Island by Mancini Beverage – Best Beverage division.
