Red Stripe – An American Brasserie in Providence hosted a wine-pairing dinner in collaboration with Mancini Beverage on July 22. Laurine Ryan-Perry, Fine Wine Specialist, Mancini Beverage, presented the wines to dinner guests, who enjoyed a four-course pairing event with showcase selections that included Aveleda Alvarinho, paired with a baby green salad; Scaia Rosato, paired with a summer cavatelli pasta dish; Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon paired with grilled rib-eye; and Contrade Negroamaro, paired with a dessert of dark chocolate key lime pie truffles. Ryan-Perry guided guests through tasting notes and regional attributes of Portugal, Italy and California as each wine and course were served.
- Aveleda Alvarinho of Mango, Portugal, offers aromas of grapefruit, white peaches and white flowers for a structured and smooth wine with notes of orange zest, pineapple and orange blossom.
- Scaia Rosato of Veneto, Italy, is made from 100% Rondinella grapes, fresh and floral aromas of apricot skin and orange peel.
- Contrade Negroamaro of Puglia, Italy, offers aromas of cherry, red currant, licorice and lavender with an earthy spice blend.
- Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon of Napa Valley, California, offers all the hallmarks of Caymus, supple, rich and dark, sourced from sites all over the state.
