Italy’s Franciacorta earned a notable recognition and has been selected as the International (Non-U.S.) Wine Region of the Year 2024 of Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Star Awards, now in its 25th year. The award recognizes Franciacorta’s excellence and its benchmark role in the international wine world. The Franciacorta Consortium said the “award is the result of many years of collective work and all its members wine estates to promote the area and constantly improve its wine quality.” The Consortium promotes the Franciacorta denomination, the interests of its 123 wine estate members and the wine region as a whole, ensuring that all wines sold under the Franciacorta denomination meet high-quality standards and technical characteristics dictated by its production regulation. The Wine Star Awards are designed to recognize contributions to the wine industry. The 2024 winners will be celebrated in January in San Francisco at the annual black-tie gala for the magazine’s Best of the Year 2024 issue.
