High West Rye Featured in Cocktail Competition

By February 28, 2024Connecticut, Top News

A cocktail competition featured High West Double Rye Whiskey at El Segundo in South Norwalk on Jan. 24. The Wednesday evening event showcased the talents of eight local bartenders who created their best cocktails featuring High West Double Rye Whiskey for a panel of judges. The winners were: first place: Rebecca Legoute, 29 Markle Ct; second place: Justin C., Jacob’s Pickles and Barcelona Wine Bar; and third place: Anthony McLeon, El Segundo. High West Double Rye Whiskey is a blend of column and pot still whiskeys, which are aged in new white oak barrels for two to seven years, resulting in a unique and complex flavor profile with notes of cinnamon, gingersnaps, juniper, fresh mint and honey. The High West Whiskey line is made in Park City, Utah and is the first legally licensed distillery in Utah since the end of the Prohibition.
