Highclere Castle Gin was selected as the official gin of the evening for the King’s Trust Global Gala 2024 hosted by Lionel Richie at Cipriani South Street in NYC on May 2. Highclere Castle Gin, which debuted in New England markets in 2019, was founded by Connecticut spirits entrepreneur Adam von Gootkin and Lord and Lady Carnarvon, the Eighth Earl and Countess of Highclere Castle. The estate serves as the famous location for acclaimed television and film drama “Downton Abbey.” Guests enjoyed the Highclere Castle Gin’s British 75 as the featured cocktail for the evening with bottle displays on every table. King Charles III’s longtime charity celebrated the evening with a new name and U.S. expansion. Previously named the Prince’s Trust, the charity was founded in 1976 when then-Prince Charles III used his severance pay from the Royal Navy to launch the nonprofit dedicated to helping unemployed young people in the United Kingdom with job training. Since then, the charity has expanded its education and employment initiatives into 25 Commonwealth countries. Highclere Castle Gin’s official charity is the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust supporting young entrepreneurs throughout the British Commonwealth. The brand recently launched a contest throughout the U.S. for two people to win a trip to a private cocktail party at Highclere Castle in September.
