The Savory Grape in East Greenwich hosted a fundraiser for Providence-based Sojourner House during Women’s History Month in March. During the March 29 event, visitors enjoyed Maker’s Mark paired with Pranzi Catering & Events’ charcuterie plates. Maker’s Mark is a small-batch bourbon whisky produced in Loretto, Kentucky. The brand history dates to the early 1950s and is part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Calligrapher Danielle Holleran of Details and Swirls was also on hand. Maker’s Mark Representative Thomas Johnson, Suntory Global Spirits Territory Manager, educated guests on the brand and poured samples. For more than 45 years, Sojourner House has served thousands of victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and human trafficking and provides support groups, emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing, sexual health advocacy and emotional support. A portion of Maker’s Mark sales, as well as a donation from The Savory Grape, directly benefited the nonprofit. The brand is distributed in Rhode Island via Southern Glazer’s Beverage Company.
