McLaughlin & Moran hosted a tasting event featuring Grand Rapids, Michigan’s Founders Brewing Company and Chicago, Illinois’ Goose Island Brewing stouts at The Thirsty Beaver in Cranston on January 24. Guests sampled Founders’ Canadian Breakfast Stout and Kentucky Breakfast Stout. Both brews start as Founders’ original Breakfast stout, brewed using oats and coffee, but each is finished using a different barrel aging technique. The third beer featured was Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Stout.
