Narragansett Beer celebrated American Craft Beer Week in May with a host of events at Providence’s India Point Park brewery and taproom and collaboration with area venues led by President Mark Hellendrung. From themed industry night offerings to teaming up with the Department of Environmental Management for an oyster-shucking competition, craft beer fans enjoyed the iconic Rhode Island brand in multiple ways. Since first opening in 1890, Narragansett Beer has experienced a storied history. In 2005, lifelong Rhode Islander and company President Hellendrung and his team resurrected the brand and, in 2022, the brewery completed its first full year of operations at its 18,000-square-foot waterfront brewery and taproom across from India Point Park, welcoming more than 100,000 visitors. Brews include its namesake Lager, Fresh Catch Citra Session Ale, Musik Express IPA, Atlantic Light Lager, Del’s Shandy and many more.
