
Eder Bros., Inc., in collaboration with Brown-Forman, hosted a cocktail competition featuring Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye at High George by Siena at The Blake Hotel in New Haven on Jan. 10. Eight local bartenders created their best cocktails for the judging panel: Frank Dean, Co-owner, 1928 Cocktail Club; Jonathan Rodriguez, Siena Ristorante; and Ryan Durant. The winners were: first place: Ozzie Casco, Craft 260, Fairfield; second place: Nolan Cummings, 1754 House, Woodbury; and third place: Matt Perez, Via Gastrobar, New Haven. The newest whiskey in Jack Daniel’s Bonded series, Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye is bottled at 100 proof with flavors of vanilla, toffee and rye spice. The spirit meets all bonded whiskey qualifications as it is crafted in a single distillery during a single distilling season and is aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years.
