Opici Adds New Imported Wines to Its Connecticut Portfolio

By July 25, 2024Connecticut, Top News

Opici Family Distributing of Connecticut welcomed new imported wines to its portfolio this summer. Australian-made NEWBLOOD Non-Alcoholic Wines offers three varietals, each low in sugar and low in calories: Non-Alcoholic Shiraz, a nonalcoholic red wine based on a classic Shiraz style with hints of oak, plum and dark chocolate, which is lower in calories compared to a traditional shiraz; Non-Alcoholic Chardonnay, a nonalcoholic white wine based on a classic Australian buttery Chardonnay featuring hints of oak, citrus blossom and honeysuckle along with a crisp palate that’s fresh and balanced; and pale pink and vegan-friendly Non-Alcoholic Rosé, which showcases aromas of rose petals, watermelon and sweet strawberry. From Spain, Juan Gil White Blend 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Verdejo, 9% ABV, is a low-alcohol, low-calorie wine from Bodegas Viñas Familia Gil. Located in Jumilla, the family-owned winery has roots dating back to 1916. Four generations later, Viñas Familia Gil owns 11 wineries across the Spanish territory in 10 Spanish appellations. Casali Lambrusco, from Casali Viticultori in Pratissolo di Scandiano, offers three expressions of Italy’s iconic sparkling wine style: 1900 Malbo Gentile, a deep purple red with a bouquet of sweet ripe fruit such as blackberry and blackcurrant jam; 1900 Rosso Secco, ruby red with purple hues, the wine offers a distinctly fruity nose of strawberry and cherry, with hints of red rose and poppy flower; and Lambruscone, bottled for the first time in the 1970s, when labeling regulations had not been established yet, making it the only Lambrusco on the market allowed to show this adjective on the label.
