Slocum & Sons welcomed several new offerings trending for the new year ahead. Expanding its diverse portfolio in the premium boxed wine category, two new offerings were added in keeping with consumer desire for both sustainable packaging and larger formats: Sokol Blosser’s Evolution Wines and Quadrum Wine Co. Evolution Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a premium Pinot Noir in a 1.5-liter box. The wine offers notes of bright red, round and juicy fruit, cherry pie and a hint of oak. One 1.5-liter box is equivalent to two 750-ml bottles, or 10 glasses, and can be enjoyed for up to 30 days after opening. Sokol Blosser is a founding family winery in the Dundee Hills of Oregon, making award-winning wines for more than 20 years. From a Spanish winemaking family headed by Jorge Ordóñez comes the offering Quadrum BIB Red Blend, a premium boxed wine venture by Jorge and his children, Victor and Monica, using the highest-quality Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, which are grown with no chemical fertilizers, fungicides, pesticides, herbicides or wasteful irrigation. The 3-liter box is equivalent to four 750-ml bottles, or 20 glasses, and can be enjoyed for up to 30 days after opening. The bag-in-box format provides value to the consumer and value to the environment, protecting it from harmful greenhouse gas emissions by being 80% more efficient through weight and volume savings, compared to traditional glass bottles, during the shipping process.
