Horizon Beverage Co. of Rhode Island added Newton, Massachusetts-based Spindrift Spiked, a new, cleaner twist on hard seltzer from the makers of Spindrift nonalcoholic sparkling water. Spindrift Spiked is crafted with just two ingredients: spiked sparkling water and real “squeezed” fruit. The alcohol is made from fermented cane sugar and ultra-filtered to remove impurities at the molecular level. Unlike other hard seltzers, there are no added colors, additives, sweeteners or preservatives. Spindrift Spiked is gluten-free, kosher and flavors range from 82 to 95 calories. Spindrift is donating 1% of Spiked sales to 1% for the Planet, an international organization whose members contribute to environmental causes. The seltzers are sold in variety two- or 12-pack, 12-ounce cans.
