Stonington Vineyards’ Pawcatuck River Red Table Wine is a blend of local grapes boasting scents of black currant and dark chocolate on the nose and a medium body with youthful tannins.

Stonington Vineyards unveiled a new red wine in December 2021, blending grape varietals and a good cause in its release. Barrel aged for a year, Stonington Vineyards, 2020 Pawcatuck River Red Table Wine is a blend of local grapes boasting scents of black currant and dark chocolate on the nose and a medium body with youthful tannins. The wine is available by the bottle or glass through Stonington Vineyards’ tasting room. A portion of the proceeds from sales benefits the Wood Pawcatuck Watershed Association, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and protection of its namesake 300-square-mile area in southeastern Connecticut and southwestern Rhode Island. The area comprises seven major rivers, lakes, wetlands and streams. Situated on 58 acres in eastern Connecticut’s Stonington Uplands, Stonington Vineyards offers a variety of award-winning European-style wines, including Stonington Vineyards Cabernet Franc, Triad Rosé, Seaport White, Riesling, Barrel-Fermented Chardonnay and Barrel-Free Chardonnay.
