Mohegan Sun hosted the ninth annual Sun Whiskey Union in its Earth Ballroom on April 19. During the sold-out evening event, guests enjoyed sampling more than 50 brands of domestic and imported whiskey, bourbon, Scotch and rye selections while learning more from wholesalers, distillery owners, whiskey experts and supplier representatives. Over 185 liquors were available for tasting along with food from House of BBQ & Bacon LLC and NoRA Cupcake Company, with live music by the Mad Hatter Band. Prior to Whiskey Union, Mohegan Sun hosted Spirits & Cigars: Mohegan Sun Select Whiskeys event featuring spirits from Mohegan Sun’s Limited Barrel Select Program, including Elijah Craig, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, Teeling Irish Whiskey, Westland Single Malt American Whiskey, Great Jones Bourbon, Old Forester Bourbon, Rittenhouse Rye, South County Chocolate Rye Whiskey and Woodford Reserve, among brands. Bartender Phil Wills of “Bar Rescue” and Dimitrios Zahariadis, The Cocktail Chemist, mixed up cocktails for guests in the Mohegan Sun Online Casino Signature Cocktail Bar featuring spirits from Connecticut Distilling. Proceeds benefited the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut.
