
The Savory Grape in East Greenwich hosted an in-store tasting with Ian Single, Territory Manager – New England, Spiribam, on Jan. 19 for its spirit tasting of the month, Hardy Cognac. Female-owned and -operated, the iconic estate offers a history dating back to 1863. Today, Hardy Cognac is run by two women of the fifth generation of the family, Bénédicte and Sophie Hardy. The Legend 1863 Cognac is the flagship of the portfolio, produced in commemoration of the Hardy family, and uses traditional production methods from within the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Cognac. Visitors enjoyed firsthand education and tastings that included Hardy Legend 1863 Cognac, Hardy Noces d’Argent Fine Champagne Cognac, Hardy Organic V.S.O.P. Cognac, Maison Rouge V.S.O.P. Cognac and Maison Rouge V.S. Cognac. The line is distributed in Rhode Island via Horizon Beverage Co. – Copley division.
