Providence, RI
Founded in 1963, the Trinity Repertory Company, known as Trinity Rep, is home to Rhode Island’s Tony Award-winning state theater. It offers a variety of world premiere, contemporary and classic performance pieces to its diverse audience of locals and visitors alike. Housed in Downtown Providence’s Lederer Theater Center, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Trinity Rep features a longstanding resident acting company. Coinciding with Pride Month in June, Trinity Rep’s latest production offered a rendition of “La Cage aux Folles,” a musical comedy that tells the story of a gay couple as they try to pretend to be straight for one night to appease the conservative family of their son’s fiancée. Trinity Rep’s bar team created a signature cocktail for the play, the Pink Lemon Death Drop, which uses Rhode Island Spirits Rhodium Limoncello and Citron Vodka. Based in Pawtucket, the RI and Rhodium spirits line is co-owned by spouses Kara Larson and Cathy Plourde and is recognized as New England’s only LGBTQ-owned spirits brand.
