Two Roads Brewing Company hosted the eighth annual Shore to the Pour Beach Run 5K on Aug. 27. The journey wound through town roads for the first mile, then went into the Audubon Center on a hard-packed grass path around the perimeter of the property, offering a scenic view of Long Island Sound, Stratford Harbor, onto the “Two Roads Trail” of gravel and culminated in a beach-level run on the sand along the water back to the finish line. Race participants received a Two Roads Race T-shirt and medal, enjoying cold Two Roads brews at the end. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Audubon Connecticut at Stratford Point. The nonprofit supports programs that connect people to nature across the state through land stewardship, science, education and advocacy, as well as works to preserve and protect habitats of bird species and other wildlife. Stratford Point, which is managed by Audubon Connecticut, is a popular birding destination and provides 40 acres of habitat.
