
Slocum & Sons hosted Urs Vetter, Managing Director of Vietti winery in Piedmont, Italy, on April 30 at Artisan in Southport. The lunch featured the forthcoming 2021 vintage of the winery’s single-vineyard Barolos and the 2022 vintage of its single-vineyard Barberas. Also presented for the first time, a single-vineyard offering of Timorasso, called Boscogrosso, from a single parcel in Monleale. Timorasso is a rare indigenous white grape that Vietti has recently added to its collection of top Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera wines. The day event included a guided tasting by Vetter and accompanying cuisine from the Artisan team.
