The Wine Bros. of Rumford introduced new wines from Iapetus to its portfolio. Three still varieties are new to Rhode Island: 2016 Substrata, barrel fermented and aged in oak for nine months with regular lees stirring; 2016 Tectonic, aged in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel; and 2016 Subduction, a 28-day maceration barrel aged for seven months. Vermont-based Winemaker Ethan Joseph created the Iapetus label, named after the ancient sea that once covered the Champlain Valley. Joseph is the winemaker for Shelburne Farm Vineyard in Vermont. The wines are made from estate fruit.
