Craft Beer Guild Distributing of Connecticut’s Blueprint Spirits division hosted a tasting of the 123 Organic Tequila line at The Owl Shop in New Haven on March 10. Guests enjoyed tastes of the line’s tequila and Cráneo Organic Artesanal Mezcal and Granja Nomada Mezcal, along with AVO cigars in the venue’s lounge. Founded by Tequilero David Ravandi, the tequila line is available in Uno (Blanco), Dos (Reposado), Tres (Añejo) and Diablito (Extra Añejo). The brand shows its commitment to preserving the environment with its tequilas, which are made with USDA- and EU-certified organic agave, down to its bottling in handblown recycled glass bottles with recycled paper labels. Cráneo Organic Artisanal Mezcal is a single-estate artisanal mezcal, hand-crafted by Ravandi and local maestro mezcaleros in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca with 100% organic agave using ancient Oaxacan distillation practices. Founded by Aracely and Gustavo Javier, Granja Nomada Mezcal is made from 100% Espadìn agave grown in San Carlos Yautepec, in Tlacolula, Mexico, and harvested in annual batches from family-owned palenques when the plants are eight years old.
