The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) touted its DeliveringLocalJobs.com website as part of its public awareness effort highlighting the beer distribution industry and the 135,000 men and women who work as truck drivers, sales representatives, inventory specialists and other related roles in local communities in all 50 states. In Rhode Island, NBWA figures show eight distributor facilities, 219 employees, $18.5 million in wages and salaries, $540,000 economic impacts in communities via support of charities, local events and economic development, $24.2 million in federal, state and local taxes, with a $111.9 million total economic impact.
